The American University of The Emirates welcomes a guest speaker who works in a well -known platform which is LinkedIn; the guest speaker Mary Aji gave a session teaching the importance of LinkedIn and how to use it. She explained that every student must have a profile in LinkedIn to use it after graduating to help them in their career field and in their future. CMMC students attended the lecture with students of other colleges. The lecture took place in the University of The Emirates campus at the auditorium on Thursday, 20th February.
LinkedIn hosts more than 500 million professional profiles and it is a supply of network connections and job opportunities. The features of this program are firstly, that it has full- fledged professional in any industry with an easy way for applying for any career job. The purpose of the session is to prepare the students of the pre-internship class to be professional and teach them how to have the right job after graduating. Students can create a profile with their experience, education, skills and interests. Also, they can upload resumes, C.V’s, portfolio and connect with classmates, colleagues, doctors and professionals as also, they can help students to build a network in advance for their career. Moreover, a lot of employees and mangers use this program to hire people in their company which is a way to reach them.
At the end of this session a certificate was given to all students who attended the session of the guest speaker.
