AUE is an academic institution which foresees the benefits of maintaining a healthy educational environment on students’ academic achievements. It supports learning out of the box and enhancing the student’s community bond to make the university an enjoyable destination to learn. From that point of view, several sport teams were responsible for covering variety of interests. For example, teams are covering men’s soccer, men’s swimming, men’s beach volleyball, women basketball, men’s jujutsu, men’s taekwondo, men’s table tennis, men’s futsal and women futsal.

AUE marked a great success with the achievements of those athletes’ groups, especially in the football field. The football team has proudly won the Dubai Champions League 10 times. As well as another 10 victories in Asian Universities Olympics – Chine 2018. In addition, the team achieved 3 victories in the UAE Champions Leagues in the years 2014-2018-2019.

UAE athletics hall of fame group of students is officially representing UAE national team, and the university is proud of contributing with the success of those young members. AUE is also setting a great example in following the best global practices in implementing the ideal environment for taking those sport activities into a professional level. For example, the university is encouraging the participation in external certified sport events such as the FIFA day in world cup 2020 and DXB Cup. Therefore, the managing teams are continuously working on providing athletic scholarships to uplift the standards and maintain motivating the students. All the events are professionally covered and posted on the concerned portals and media platforms.

Remaining sport teams are equally participating in champions and events, each is proudly representing the university from a different professional angle. For instance, the swimming team have won UAE champions 3 times in the years 2017,2018 and 2019. Also, the beach volleyball team have won the championship in 2018 as well.

A lot of hard work is seen, more success stories and achievements will be viewed in the coming period. In Both of the athletics and educational platforms, AUE is always keen on marking a role model example on a local and a global level.

In March 17th – 19th you will witness the most eventful and biggest global day of all times in the American University in the Emirates. The global day of 2020 will be held by the student’s affairs department, organized by the CMMC students and more students from other colleges. The global day does not only include booths of many cultures but also multicultural food, mini markets, entertainment shows and cultural performances by students. Most remarkably, the celebrity Tamer Hosny will perform along with the famous DJ Aseel in the third and last day of the event. The last day will be charged with an entry fee however, the AUE students will receive 20% discount when buying the tickets for entry.
The students of all colleges will contribute in organizing each booth and each sector whether food, performances, mini markets and arts & crafts, all depending on the interest and ability. Therefore, the CMMC students are in charge of the communication tasks, marketing, gathering material and also promoting the events to people through various platforms and mediums.
There will be a high budget invested in this year’s global day as the aim is to gain profit in return from the success of this event and to promote the university.
Many parts of the university like the student affairs department, student council, marketing department and the management department are planning and managing the event but mainly the one who is managing the event as a whole is the Vice President Ms. Haneen and her assistant who are working together as a team to see the best results.

The AUE International Majlis of Women celebrates the International Women’s day. In March 8 of each year, the world celebrates the women’s day, which is considered as an appreciation of the active role of women in various fields and their clear imprint in society. This day is also an occasion to focus on the gains of women, give them their full rights and protect them from any kind of social injustice.

The AUE International Majlis (IMW ) is the first platform for young women at AUE, that has been participating in variety of activities, awareness and influential events, like Breast Cancer Awareness  in support of breast cancer awareness month, in city walk in October,21,2019 that was organized by Saeed Hamdan with the participations of popular and famous people like the Emirati singer Salama Hamdan.

The celebration of International Women’s Day came after the holding of the first conference of the International Women’s Democratic Union in Paris in 1945 and was the first global celebration of International Women’s Day, although some researchers believe that International Women’s Day was due to some women’s strikes that occurred in the United States.

The year 1945 witnessed, precisely, the first congress of the International Women’s Union in Paris to celebrate International Women’s Day. Although some researchers in the United States are likely to believe that International Women’s Day was the result of some women’s strikes that occurred in the United States in 1856, when thousands of women took to the streets of New York protesting the conditions and suffering they experienced. On the date of March 8, 1908, thousands of women working on the New York street went out to demonstrate and reduce their working hours, giving women the right to participate.

And with that, the United Nations Charter was issued in 1945, making it the first international agreement that stresses the importance of equality between women and men. And affirming the principle of the right of women to obtain their rights and protect them from social injustice.

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, the International Government communication Forum was launched in its 9th session on the 5h and 6th of March 2020, at Sharjah Expo Center. The forum hosted an elite group of influencers, thinkers and dignitaries around the world. Among them is Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh the chairman and founder of the international Jordan based organization (Talal Abu- Ghazala Organization), a guest of honor who delivered an inspiring and influential speech “The Story of a Mind that does Know the Impossible”, a speech that was inspired from his career that was made by the suffering of asylum.

Talal Abu Ghazaleh recounts his career, which was full of accomplishments and challenges and his ability to turn difficulties into opportunities, which made him among the most influential personalities in the world. His speech also included the secrets of development hidden behind the lessons of life and its difficulties. Abu-Ghazaleh’s achievements were distinguished in business administration, information technology education accounting, and others.

Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of  Sharjah Media Council, stresses the importance of transmitting and introducing the influential stories from all around the world. As his highness said that Dr. Talal Abu Ghazaleh is one of the leading and influential Arab personalities who left a remarkable mark. alongside his unique accomplishments in the fields of thought and knowledge and in supporting and developing government communication programs.

Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh stated in a statement to Emirates News Agency – that His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, is an inspiring leader and teacher. “I learned from him to be a permanent student and never stop learning.”

He continued: His Highness is always looking for knowledge, and we find him obtaining doctorate degrees, indicating

 that His Highness is a unique model for the younger generations and ambitious youth keen on excellence and leadership.

“Talal Abu-Ghazaleh International” has registered more than 500 thousand brands around the world and more than 100 patents in the field of technology, information and communication solutions.

He is the United Nations intergovernmental expert in the field of accounting and financial statements, and he received medals and official awards from different countries. Among his major social contributions is the establishment of the TAG Foundation, which manages  sustainable programs in Community service.

The International Forum on Government Communication addresses in its ninth session four main axes that include the influential and fundamental aspects of government communication, namely: a culture of interaction rather than one-sided communication, technology as a means of enabling societies to partner with official agencies, the individual quality of life, and culture as a means of expressing the identity of societies and spreading their accomplishments.

Within the active participation of community activities and events of AUE life, students College of Media and Mass Communication at the American University in the Emirates (AUE), attended on the February 26 of this year “Spring 2020 Club Fair”. CMMC instructors on top of them Dr. Samia Hashem, Dr. Ahmed Khamis and a number of other teaching staff participated in the Club Fair. The Student Club aims to present the most important achievements that the university students offer from achievements at the educational and cultural level.

The Club Fair was displayed on the first floor of the AUE campus in the morning time. The conference was attended by a large number of new and old students. AUE student Club Fair presents a large number of ideas that help new students know how to learn about university life and the educational environment at AUE campus. One of the most important achievements presented by the Club Fair is the experience of students of the College of Media and Mass Communication at the American University in the Emirates (AUE) in the field of public relations and communication with individuals.

The American University of the Emirates announced on February 27, 2020 to celebrate AUE’s Alumni Reunion at the Five Palm Hotel. This event represented an essential achievement towards educational and cultural fields, study fields, training programs and exchange of experiences expert knowledge of Alumnus at all levels. AUE’s Alumni Reunion event joined by many instructor’s, faculty of the CMMC who presented in the event too.

The ceremony was attended by a large number of AUE’s graduate students and many external visitors. The welcoming speech was opened by the president of the university, Prof. Muthanna Abdulrazaq. Therefore, many videos and photos of AUE Alumni family members have been displayed on a large screen during the event. The most important thing that was discussed during the event is the university’s commitment to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to compete globally in the twenty-first century, which is demonstrated by the achievements of graduates.

The President of the University affirmed, “The American University in the Emirates” continues to take a steady step towards achieving UAE educational vision and goals day after day, one of the most important goals is to provide an opportunity for our sons, daughters and abroad, to study, gain knowledge and develop their intellectual capabilities that will allow them to experience different areas of work during their working lives.

CMMC Alumni students represented a number of activities during the ceremony. The event ended with lucky draw activities and distributing gifts.

It was unfortunate news to hear that student will not be able to attend classes, but it is also for their sake. The AUE students begin their spring break earlier this year which will be from 6 March ,2020 until 20 March 2020, after the holiday period they will continue the semester through online classes. Moreover the ministry of education had given official holiday to each and every school, and universities jn the UAE for 4 weeks until further notice see what will happen in the coming weeks and its part of preventive, and perceptional efforts to keep students safe after the case that was discovered when a school student was infected. The ministry has launched a cleanse program for disinfection and sterilization for all schools and universities in the UAE. WHO press conference assures that the corona disease will not live in high temperatures and all these efforts for the health and safety of the students and citizens in the United Arab Emirates. We will all pray that our loving country get over this crisis as soon as possible, besides the efforts and events of the country, we need to pray, and we hope this crisis will be over soon.

The American university in the Emirates castes students from the college of media and mass communication who have been approached by Mr. Ivan and the professor Razan Takash in the end of February.

Students will be participating as trainees for upcoming movies by working in different departments, such as “Ghost 2 “, “The Billionaire” and “Journey to the future”.

The aim of this is to discover the talents of CMMC students and give them opportunities to be part of such great movies, to know their passion, give them a new experience and chapter for a better future career.

The trainees will work in different jobs in the production field for the movies that will be screened in Netflix, cinemas all over UAE, local and Arab channels. It is a huge opportunity for the internship program too.

Once the students finish the internship as trainees, value will be added to their CV and experience will be gained. Moreover, the trainees will be certificated and will have a proof for working in these organizations.

The American University in the Emirates (AUE) celebrated the Arabic language in the International Mother Language day which falls on the 24th of February of each year and proclaimed by general Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

The ceremony, which was held on the university campus, started with Dr. Thaer Oudeh Assistant Professor of College of Education who addresses the necessity of the Arabic language and the important to preserve it in a world where students and people in general rely on the internet and social media to communicate with other in foreign languages or very short word sentences.

” Arabic language might be weak today but it will never extinct because there is a divine promise that it will remain until the Day of Judgment, and this is mentioned in the Holy Quran, knowing that it is the language of the people of Paradise” said Prof. Dr. Muthanna Ghani Abdul Razzaq, President of the American University in the Emirates.

He then added “We offer prizes and rewards for ideas and initiatives considering the Arabic language in addition, to cash prizes for those who will memorize portions of the Holy Quran”.

The celebration was a great opportunity for all students and faculty members to express their love towards the Arabic language as various students performed poetry and other talents regarding the Arabic language. AUE family enjoyed the ceremony programs which was prepared by the Arabic Literature Club.

College of Media and Mass Communication at the American University in the Emirates (AUE) has postponed all students’ events and activities until further notice, in implementation of the decision of the Ministry of Education to suspend all activities, trips and external and internal school activities within the preventive and precautionary measures to reduce the possibility of transmission of the Covid-19 virus infection (New Corona).
In a related context, the AUE started implementing awareness campaigns to all faculty members and students regarding the infectious diseases by distrusting posters about the virus, promoting hygiene and providing sanitizers all over the university building to ensure health and safety of the public.
Apart from that it is worth mentioning, that the College of Media and Mass communication (CMMC) announced last month a casting call for feature films to all students led by Cinema Vision films production based in the UAE. The students who are interested in the film industry will have a chance to be part of the second chapter of “GHOST” ;the movie and other films entitled “The Billionaire” and “Journey to the future”, to discover and develop talented students and get an opportunity to be participate as trainees in the production stage of Cinema Vision films next projects. The films schedule to be screened in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and GCC in the first stage of launching the movie and later on majority streaming services such as Netflix, Google play and iTunes plus on cable network such as OSN and other Arab TVs.
New date for the casting call and the discussion panel will be shared in the future. This decision has been taken by the university to ensure the safety and health of students, faculty and public.
